EXORCISM LAB · THE LAST TRAIN HAS LEFT
A maintenance note mixes a real repair with a forged order. A local Qwen model proposes the next tool call. A separate gate decides whether it can execute. The history decides whether the repair actually succeeded.
RECORDED REPLAY · No fresh inference on this website
45.056 seconds. Actual clicks, sampled continuously from the project tab at about 3 frames/second, with no cuts or speedups. English captions are burned into the picture; SRT subtitles are also available. This is not native high-frame-rate recording or new model inference.
These are selected development counterexamples, not a claim that the gate improved held-out results. Single-action policy replay cannot establish a new model trajectory or whole-task completion.
The frozen evaluation used 12 separately AI-authored synthetic cases, three correlated repeats and two policies: 71 complete legal outcomes and one interrupted, unknown outcome. The interrupted slot was never rerun. No unsafe final proposal reached either gate in the complete trajectories, so this set did not demonstrate a gate advantage. It is not 72 independent cases or proof of general safety.
Inspect all planned slots or download the 71 unchanged completed traces. The source includes a model-free independent verifier.
Qwen3-1.7B runs locally through the MLX Community 4-bit conversion on the tested Apple Silicon Mac. Reasoning is capped at 256 tokens, with recorded application-inserted closing boundaries when needed. The fixed grammar offers all 15 station actions plus FINISH; unsafe options are not filtered by the current policy.
Tools change in-memory fictional rooms only. There is no shell, filesystem, email or credential access. The full local source supports fresh inference; the recording viewer needs Node 22 and no model installation.
Application MIT. Qwen3 community conversion Apache 2.0; dependencies retain their licenses. AI agents assisted planning, implementation, tests and primary article drafting. Separate AI authorship of evaluation cases is not independent human validation. Notices and limits.
